Kim Soo Hyun in Manila

You probably know, or not, that Kim Soo Hyun was in Manila last week. I will tell you a secret. Are you ready?

~I am Kim Soo Hyun’s girlfriend!~

That is the line you will hear from every fan who loves Kim Soo Hyun, including me. Of course, we wish, right? Kidding! Bench brought Kim Soo Hyun to Manila last week for a fan meet, and I was one happy kid! This was the first fan meet I ever attended and the first public gathering I went to in the middle of a pandemic because it’s Kim Soo Hyun, everyone.

A few weeks before the monumental event, my friend and I joined Bench’s raffle so we could buy VIP and Patron A seats. We were so luckless that we did not even get into any of the four raffles they drew. 🤷🏻‍♀️  So we were forced to avail of the Patron B seats, which were not so bad!

The lines outside the MOA Arena were insanely long on the event day! We were fortunate because the waiting area for Patron B ticket holders was covered. We queued for more than four hours and were let inside the arena before 5 PM. When we were finally seated, I realized I had left the one thing that could make or break the experience—my eyeglasses! Damn right, I was there to see Kim Soo Hyun but left the second clearer pair of my eyes at home! So you can just imagine how worried I was that everything—sweat, time, effort, money—would just go down the drain. Luckily, our seats were at the side of the stage, and I was confident I could see him just fine.

When he was introduced and came out on the stage, I ~figuratively~ died! How did I get so lucky to see him in the flesh in this lifetime? Haha. You guys, I am not even kidding when I say this: HE IS SO FREAKING HANDSOME! I didn’t even have my glasses, but it was clear as the sky is blue that he is so pogi. I’m not even biased, y’all! Arrghhh! Hahaha.

He was interviewed, dared and asked some questions, and I giggled, uttered a bunch of “ooh’s” and “aww’s”, clapped,  and looked at him admirably. In short, my love for him has gone through the roof! Oh, my crazy heart, be still! Hahaha! They also held games, but since we were very much in luck (not), our numbers were never picked! Fans who were called had the chance to see him up really close. Bummer!

I am gaga over Soo Hyun not just because of his passion for craft and his good looks but mainly because of his humility, appreciation for his fans, and his kengkoyness. I love that he is such as quipper! I thought I couldn’t admire him more, but because of this fan meet, I love him to the stars and back.

This event has been locked in my core memory. The Kim Soo Hyun in Manila fan meeting was, indeed, one extraordinary day!
